🇬🇧The last week has been about family, midsummer and swimming in the ocean. Next week I’m in Denmark guiding.
🇬🇧 There are two gifts we should give our children; one is roots, and the other is wings. Today I looked at flowers with my kid, my wife, my sister and my parents (roots).
🇬🇧 For a young kid even the smallest microadventure can be big and adventurous. Two hour walk and a coffee next to the sea.
🇬🇧 One of many mornings during my three month walk from Smygehuk to Ytterhogdal in Sweden. I walked with snowshoes for a couple of weeks. Fun but hard. Kul men jobbigt.
🇬🇧 Emelie! Not only a wife and mother but also an adventurous woman that I had the pleasure to first met in the Swedish Mountains a couple of years back. She has been trekking and running in most weathers. We still have a lot of miles to go. I love you! ↟ 🇸🇪 Emelie! 📷 @frilufts
🇬🇧 The Casströms knife has been my companion since a couple of months now. The birch handle and the overall finish is 👌. ↟ 🇸🇪 Casströms kniven har varit min ständiga följeslagare sedan några månader. Björkhandtaget och finishen är 👌.
A solo adventure on snowshoes! A great route I took a couple of years ago. Grövelsjön-Hävlingestugorna-Rogen-Skedbrostugan-Tänndalen. Being out alone during winter is not for everyone but a great way to use your skills, see the northern lights, dig in the snow and be with yourself for a while. ↟

Storulvån. A great place to start an adventure. We skied Blåhammaren, Storerikvollen, Sylarna and then back to Storulvån. There are a few additional huts along the route. You need a key in Storerikvollen.
A windy adventurous day in the Swedish mountains. I really enjoy these harsh weather conditions. The windchill factor, poor visibility and the drifting snow makes me feel alive and “out there”. It’s a way to test my level of awareness and how I use my knowledge.

Nordkalottruta or Arctic Trail is a marked hiking trail in the Arctic region of Nordic countries. The trail passes through Øvre Dividal National Park, Reisa National Park, Abisko National Park and Padjelanta National Park as well as the Sulitjelmafjellet and Narvikfjellregions. The entire trail is marked and serviced by mountain huts. Most of the huts will be of the unstaffed type, where you must carry your own food. If, like me, you start the walk in Nikkaluokta and end in Kilpisjärvi you have ~310km (192 miles) of trail to cover and you will only cross 2 roads along the way.
This picture is taken in Grövelsjön. Grövelsjön is the southern door to the Swedish mountains. Here, the mountains are gently rounded. The valleys are wide, sparsely covered and easily hiked. Mountain streams with drinkable water wind their way at a gentle pace.
Mom and me were sitting having breakfast on the stairs to Sacré-Cœur in Paris. It was a wonderful morning and the start of another adventure. We spent two days here before taking the night train to Bayonne and a connecting bus to Saint Jean Pied de Port. We arrived mid-day and got our seashells, passports and map, then we headed out on the trail. 8km later we entered Orisson Refuge and we slept there for the night. Mom has never been away on an adventure as long as this, she did more then great, she was awesome and I had…
Sarek National Park is a national park in the Lapland province, northern Sweden. It borders two other national parks: Stora Sjöfallet and Padjelanta. Sarek is popular with hikers and mountaineers but is not appropriate for beginners. The national park is roughly circular with an average diameter of about 50 kilometres (31.07 mi). It has no marked trails, no accommodations, and only two bridges aside from those in the vicinity of its borders. The delta of the Rapa River is considered one of Europe’s prettiest, and the summit of mount Skierffe (sv) offers an overlook of this ice-covered glacial trough valley.
My mum and I had three days off and we badly needed some adventure. We grabbed two old bikes and took the train to Malmö. We cycled to the bridge connecting Sweden with Denmark and that signalled the beginning of our adventure. We biked along the Swedish coastline up to Helsingborg and then took the ferry over to Denmark and Helsingör where we had our first night. We sat down on the square for a couple of beers and looked at the people walking past for a while. The town is really nice and I have a lot of memories…
A wonderful walk between Åstorp and Agusa on Skåneleden, Sweden. The route takes you along small roads and forestry trails. When I lived nearby i often spent a night or two in a shelter along the trail. Distance: 162km. More info at www.en.skaneleden.se
My first Swedish walk started from Smygehuk on January 3th 2004. I had a ridiculously heavy bag back (32kg or 70.5pounds). I learned a lot on this trip about life on the road, about myself and I met a lot of people at the same time. When I started the walk there was no snow, but it didn’t take long… When I reached Örebro I had to buy snowshoes to enable me to move along the trails in the forest. When I eventually walked into Ytterhogdal I had a cold and I was done! I had been out for 3…
The Classic King’s Trail starts in Hemavan and ends in Abisko. My friend Niklas and I had some time and wanted to walk this trail and end it with the Fjällräven Classic event in Nikkaluokta. In the end we walked around 550km (342 miles). Along the trail there are a couple of lakes you have to row over. We had a leaking boat one day and that was quite exciting. Overall the trail is lovely and I like it a lot but the best parts of it are above the tree line. In the morning you can have reindeers around…
